Work-study is a federal student aid program that provides part-time employment while enrolled in school to help pay your educational expenses. It’s administered by the school that participates in the Federal Work-Study Program. The program encourages community service work and work related to the student’s course of study.
Work-study is available to undergraduate and graduate students with financial need.
With work-study, you’ll usually work for your school. However, work-study may also be off-campus with private nonprofit organizations or public agencies. Some schools might have agreements with private for-profit employers for work-study jobs.
