Road to Financial Wellness at Rutgers University (RU Financially Fit)
Thank you to the attendees of the RU Financial Fit event at Rutgers – Cook Campus event. And grateful to our partners and sponsors that helped make it happen.
We had a great event attended by over two dozen people. The event started with a student focus group conducted by Wiley on personal finance learning preferences. Dr. Barbara O’Neill welcomed the attendees and had students play the game Payba¢k.
I urge you to try the game. I’m interested if you can make it through college without drowning in debt? Play Payba¢k and find out.
As usual, I focused my keynote on expressing the importance of financial wellness. I emphasized how college students are poised to create the life of their dreams or make financial choices that will prevent them from doing so.
Mike Drulis of the New Jersey Coalition on Financial Education shared his story of how in life it’s about a constant state of figuring out how to achieve life goals and working towards them no matter what life stage we’re on.
Samantha Benson from HESAA taught attendees how to best apply for financial aid and the steps needed to make that happen.
At the end of the event, Dr. O’Neill handed over $700 in gift cards and prizes in a random drawing.
Join us for an evening at Rutgers University for fun, food, and financial knowledge that could change your life!
