Are you looking to clean out your space and make some money on the side? Consider not throwing these items away but selling them to make some extra cash. Decluttr may be the answer to boxes of old movies, games, and tech gadgets.
Decluttr is an easy way to sell your unwanted CDs, DVDs, Games, Blu-Rays, Books, and LEGO® products. You can also sell your old smartphone, iPhone, tablet, and other unused tech gear. Decluttr is free to use and easy to get started.
With Decluttr, the app and website makes it easy to scan your items and get an estimated price they'll pay for it. They've created a very streamlined process.
Here are the steps:
Decide what you're looking to sell – Get an instant offer for your books, DVDs, CDs, etc. You can easily do this by downloading the app or entering the information on the website. The app is the easiest option which uses your smartphone's camera as a barcode scanner. Selling your tech gear requires you to input the type or search through the dropdown list.
Complete order and choose your payment. Decide on direct deposit, PayPal or check. You must have met a minimum $5 before it is issued to you.
Send items for free using UPS. Items that are sent to Decluttr are not returned whether or not you receive payment for them. To ship your items, get a box and print out your free shipping label and affix to the box. Decluttr currently uses UPS for shipments.
Check your order on the app – it takes 7-10 business days. When your package arrives at the warehouse it is examined and assessed to ensure it meets the criteria. For example, if you send a smartphone and noted it was an excellent condition but it comes to the warehouse with a cracked screen. In these instances, the item you've sent might be rejected or the estimated price reduced.
Payment – get paid once products are approved. It takes a few days for payments to hit your bank account via direct deposit (if you choose that option). If you chose a check, then expect for it to arrive in a couple weeks.
Make sure any books, DVDs or CDs you send to Decluttr is in good useable shape. That means it also includes any packaging or inserts. Any rejected items, are not sent back to you and is recycled.
For tech items, make sure you've entered the correct information otherwise you won't get the estimated price you saw. If it's determined the item you described and the item received is different, it will be in touch with you. You, then, have the option to accept the offer or reject it. If you don't like the offer, they will send it back to you for free.
Depending on the stuff you're selling and the number of items, you can make a good amount of money. Once you start using Decluttr, you'll see how easy it is to find out how much you can make. Keep in mind, however, you won't get as close to how you paid for those tech gadgets or for the DVDs, CDs, and books.
If you are looking for a quick way to get rid of your stuff, then Decluttr is a good option to do so. It's free and quick to get rid of items you may have just thrown out in the trash.
However, selling your items may not get you the biggest return. They often pay pennies on stuff that you could potentially sell on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace or eBay.
Try Decluttr and see for yourself how much you can make from stuff you no longer use.
