With the recent news of hackers stealing personal information, you may have been wondering how you can protect your identity. In this LifeLock review, I’ll cover an in-depth product review of the services and the cost of identity theft protection.

LifeLock began in 2005 and has been owned by Symantec the large security software company since 2016. It is the most well-known identity theft protection services because of their original creative advertising. Back in the mid-2000s, the founder shared his social security number in the ads welcoming people to try and use his identity.

But first I want to help you understand identity theft and how companies like LifeLock exists and continues to be successful.

What is identity theft?

Identity theft and identity fraud are terms used to refer to all types of crime in which someone wrongfully obtains and uses another person’s personal data in some way that involves fraud or deception, typically for economic gain. Learn More >

My Smile Review: Is LifeLock worth the monthly subscription fee?

Identity theft is a real thing and with the recent news of Equifax hack continues to be top of mind. If you believe you’re at a great risk of identity theft, then LifeLock can be of value to you. The subscription fees are low enough to feel secure.

Learn how you can protect your identity. The federal government offers great resources to educate you on ways to protect and regain your identity.

I’ve also reviewed Credit Sesame’s free credit monitoring and identity theft protection service (up to $50,000  for free and upgradable to $1,000,000). That may be a good alternative if you’re on the fence about getting another paid subscription service.

So should you try LifeLock? It can be worth the monthly fee. I suggest checking it out for yourself and decide. I hope this review was helpful. Get LifeLock identity theft protection >
