How to Get a Copy of Your Telecheck Report

TeleCheck is a consumer reporting agency that keeps a record of your banking habits as reported by the banking relationships and financial institutions you’ve done business with.

Banks and credit unions report information relating to how you’ve managed your banking accounts to Telecheck or ChexSystems. These financial institutions report information such as excessive overdrafts, account abuse, and unpaid non-sufficient fund fees to Telecheck.

When you apply for a new bank account who uses Telecheck as part of their verification process, you may be ineligible to open an account.

As a consumer reporting agency, Telecheck must follow the FCRA rules for reporting only accurate information that is verifiable. You have the right to request a free copy of your report and dispute inaccurate information and errors.

How to Request your Free Telecheck Report

  • Go to the Telecheck website and request your report online
  • Request your report via mail. Send the request for your file report to:

P. O. Box 6806
Hagerstown, MD 21741-6806

If you prefer to mail your request, you must include the information below:

  • a daytime contact phone number
  • a copy of your driver’s license
  • your social security number
  • a copy of a voided check

Telecheck will ask for your personal information to validate the information by unique identifiers such as a driver’s license or social security number or bank numbers. They ask for this information to ensure that the search conduct will be complete and accurate.
