With cash back shopping apps, you’re getting back the money you’ve spent in the form of cashback payments, rewards, or rebates.
I have never been in the “no-spend” crowd of money bloggers. I do, however, believe if you’re going to spend money on your needs and wants, you must get the best product at the lowest price possible. I believe you should spend on quality and usability so your money is used purposefully. We should pay as little as possible on our purchases, in order to afford other things later on.
This is where cashback shopping apps and websites come into play.
Here are things I want you to consider:
- Don’t be tempted to spend more money just to receive a cashback or qualify for a rebate.
- Use these shopping apps and websites everytime you’re going to make a purchase.
- Cashback or rebates earned can be added to your emergency fund or used for micro-investing.
- Cashback and rebates are not the keys to financial freedom, but by paying less for things you’ll have a more left after your purchase for other goals.
Here is my list of the best cash back shopping apps and websites.
Best Overall Cashback Website and App: EBATES
Ebates is an online shopping portal that helps you earn cash back on your purchases with over 2,000 retailers. If you shop online, starting your shopping through Ebates can help you earn back some of your shopping dollars. This is an easy way spending less on your purchases and get back a percentage of your spending. It is very easy to use Ebates but you must start your online shopping at the Ebates website or app so your purchases are tracked. I also recommend you download the browser extension. Best for Rebates: Ibotta
Ibotta is a free mobile app that enables you to receive rebates or cash back on select products available at hundreds of stores (Walmart, CVS, Amazon, etc). To earn your cash back, you’ll need to start your shopping within the app or scan your receipts. My Smile Summary: Use Apps to Pay Less for the Things You Want
Again, I’m not here to tell you to stop spending. I just want you to spend better and pay less for the things you need and want. There may be some people who take pride in how much they can spend. And others like me who take pride in buying the best item for the lowest possible price. Use cashback and rebate apps and website to help you save. Then, use that savings to build your savings, pay off debt, or buy something else.
